Texas Tug-o-War!

Two Texans, Sharolyn and Cam Cam are tied for 1st place. Looking past those who selected Kansas as the National Champion, you’ll find more Texans: Jodi and Carl. Please don’t tell me the trophy will remain in Texas for a fourth straight year [2007Dee (Ft. Worth, TX); 2008 Robert (Plano, TX); 2009 Jodi (Katy, TX); 2010 ???]! What’s wrong with the rest of you folks? Even Corbin (aka, Poopy Pants)from Katy, TX, was in first for a while. I thought Texas was the football state and Indiana was the basketball state. Was I wrong?

Jasen, we’re proud of you…but as I predicted yesterday, you’re on your way down. Have a nice trip.

Will Banks, nice to see you in 3rd…but it ain’t gonna happen for you this year. Sorry, buddy.

Lil’ Jasen Leads the Pack!

Lil’ Jasen is in sole possession of first place! Good job, Jasen! Celebrate today…because it won’t last forever. I noticed you have Kansas winning the whole thing. Sorry. In case you didn’t hear…”KANSAS is OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Yep, most of our brackets are toast now. Thanks, Jayhawk Nation…for nothing.

So, with Kansas out, it looks like Sharolyn is poised to strike. Jodi , Cam, Jernie and Aisha could make a play for first as well.

Ma Graves, sorry to see you’ve already fallen. From 3rd to 15th…that must hurt. Hopefully, you got your party on while you were sitting near the top…’cause it’s over now. What a shame…the first weekend isn’t even over yet.

Dee and Keenan, my sincerest apologies to you both. Perhaps it would have been better if you guys didn’t play this year. Don’t get too down on yourself. There’s always next year...and the year after that…and the year after that…and so on.

Mr. Ball State…being the athlete in the family, I just expected a little more out of you. It’s a good thing you’re not on a basketball scholarship…because obviously you don’t know hoops. Jasen, please spend a little time with this guy and teach him the finer points of round ball.

…and then there’s me. Sitting comfortably in 14th place…just the way I planned it. :-(

Round 1 is over. Sixteen more fall...and Lil' Jasen and Sharolyn "The Great" take the lead!

Even more impressive is Ma Graves. She's currently tied for 3rd (her highest ranking ever).

Jodi has recovered nicely and now sits in an 8-way tie for 5th.

I've suffered a minor hiccup and landed in a "temporary" tie for 18th place. Fourteen of my Sweet 16 are still in...so, I am hopeful. We'll see what today brings.

Poopy Pants in First Place

Day 1 is over. Sixteen teams are out! …and it’s pretty clear who had no clue when they completed their bracket. Sadly enough, it the usual suspects: Bone, Jada, Jordan… I don’t know what to tell you guys. Maybe we can hold a separate (“special”) Family Pool just for your family. I think that might give you guys a fighting chance. Otherwise, I feel like it’ll be the same old thing next year…the year after…etc., etc. Let’s talk about if after the tournament this year. I really want to help you guys. It’ll be like the Olympics and the Special Olympics. You guys will just compete in the “special” pool.

Dee and Keenan, I am happy to you guys got in. Sorry for getting the information to you at the last minute. I am assuming that is why you guys are bringing up the rear after day 1. Hang in there…it ain’t over yet. You’re doing just as well as Keith Adams. Well, actually, I’m not sure that’s saying very much. Come on, Keith…pick up the pace.

Congratulations to Corbin for landing in 1st place at the conclusion of day 1! Wait…who are we kidding? Corbin is 2 years old and he’s trying to understand the concept of not pooping in his pants. There’s no way this guy completed a bracket that has him in the 96th percentile. Jodi/Carl, I’m not sure which one of you completed this bracket for him…but you should have used it for yourself…especially you, Jodi. How does 17th place feel right about now?
